Ashley lives in Alexandria, VA with her Air Force husband and sweet, smiley baby boy. The thing that brings Ashely the most joy and fulfillment in birth work is when she hears a mom say, “I did it!”. Ashley has such deep belief in the power of birthing mothers regardless of how their babies are born… to see families reach their goal and seeing the joy in having their little one in their arms gives her such a passion for working with the families that she serves.
When not working, she’s loving on her sweet little boy, loving on her husband, and getting together for coffee with friends. Being around people energizes Ashley so she tries to do it as much as she can!

Avele lives in Falls Church, VA with her husband of 6 years and their funny, free-spirited, one year old boy. She has been in awe of birth workers and the incredible strength of birthing women for years. Through Avele’s own experience during the birth of her son, she was inspired to pursue her dream of becoming a doula and participating first hand in this incredible miracle.
Avele believes the way a child is brought into this world affects the rest of it’s life – and the families life too. Honoring the families wishes and needs during this miracle is truly an honor for her.
When not working, she’s likely wrestling and laughing with her very active little boy. And trying to capture photos of said active boy.

In a past life, Mary spent four years in Paris, France living out her passion for women’s health, birthwork and babies working alongside an OB/GYN and Pediatrician. For Mary, nothing compares to the joy of watching parents meet their baby for the first time, she was hooked! A natural educator, Mary loves passing on knowledge to support awareness, confidence and empowerment. Mary takes pride in developing close relationships with families, learning their unique preferences so she can best serve their needs and she never loses sight of the immense trust families place in allowing her to share their special birth experience. One of Mary’s favorite parts of birthwork is the fourth trimester; supporting new parents and seasoned parents alike navigating the changes and decisions that come with adding a new member to the family! When not working, she is cooking delicious meals with her other half, dreaming up her next travel adventure or recharging with friends over laughs and an expresso… or two!

Jenny Bennett

Getting to experience positive, supported births with her two children led Jenny to certify as a Hypnobabies instructor. Eventually she left her 9 to 5 as a website manager and began attending births; and she never looked back!
Jenny thinks it’s so important to stay curious and meet each person and family right where they are. The most rewarding part of this role is being with someone as their confidence is blossoming. Jenny is so grateful for each and every opportunity to listen and provide gentle guidance. When not working Jenny is likely hiking, singing and playing music or honing her yoga skills.

Kim lives in Capitol Hill with her husband, son, and plenty of pets. She has a daughter who was stillborn in August of 2016 and will always be an unseen, but loved, part of her family. Kim grew up in the birth world and brings this depth of knowledge to her work with parents.
Kim is passionate about educating and supporting families as they navigate the joys and challenges of becoming parents. She believes parents feel most empowered when they are given factual information and encouraged to listen to their instincts, allowing them to make the best decision for their family.
When not working, Kim loves to run, read a good book, spend time with her family and friends, eat delicious food, and enjoy a glass of wine or cup of coffee.

Drea lives in Vienna, VA with her husband and two children. Her own experiences with a cesarean birth and then a VBAC are what led her to pursuing a career in birth work.  She learned that there are many ways to bring babies into the world – What matters most is the love that’s waiting for them once they’re here.  Drea is passionate about providing support and encouragement to women and families, no matter how they choose to welcome their baby into the world!  
When not working, Drea loves to be outdoors.  She can be found hiking with her husband and kids through the beautiful trails of Virginia or singing at the top of her lungs with her friends at an outdoor concert.

A placenta specialist and postpartum doula with a background in crisis counseling, Mandy has a passion for helping families create peaceful postpartum times. Mandy is also a childbirth educator who teaches childbirth and baby care classes at local hospitals and runs local postpartum support groups through Postpartum Support Virginia.
When she is not working you can find her collecting rocks and bugs with her son, sailing small racing boats, and taking her rather large “puppy” on off leash trail walks

Originally from Panama, Nereyda is the second child of 6 including a set of twins. She is a dedicated mother of two grown daughters and loving oma of James and Julianne. Nereyda speaks fluent Spanish and English.
She is very passionate about assisting, supporting and empowering new parents to reach a positive bonding process with their newborn. She is gentle and soothing to both parents and newborns.
Nereyda has many years of experience in the Early Childhood Education with more than 56 units of classes in the field. She also has experience and formal education with Infants and toddlers.
When not working Nereyda is spending quality time with her grandchildren in Panama and Virginia.

Heather’s innate curiosity for childbirth has led her on an incredible journey to supporting and guiding women and families during and after the most powerful transition of their lives. For more than a decade she has been discovering and learning everything she can about pregnancy, childbirth, and recovery. From specializing in newborn photography, to labor support, then to postpartum support, and now teaching childbirth education classes her journey has really been expansive.
Heather is immensely passionate about helping women adjust to life and prioritize selfcare and healing after bringing new life into the world.
She spends her free time cuddling her rescue cat, practicing yoga, reading, hiking, taking macro nature photographs, and going on adventures whenever possible.
