I grew up on a small island in the heart of the Florida Keys. From an early age, I began babysitting and nannying. Once I graduated from high school, I decided to major in Early Childhood Education with a minor in Psychology. I earned my bachelor’s degree from Florida State University and returned to the Keys to teach elementary school.

For 10 years, I worked with many families and children of different ages and abilities, including those with special needs. During this time, I also began practicing yoga and as cliché as it may sound, yoga changed my life. It has provided me with an outlet to focus the mind, control the breath, and explore and appreciate the body. I decided that I wanted to share the powerful and lasting benefits of this practice with others so I began studying to become a yoga instructor to extend my support to the adults in my community.

Following a devastating hurricane that hit in 2017, I decided to take a year sabbatical to travel the world. I have always used travel as a means to seek out new opportunities to learn, grow, and develop. During my journey, I taught yoga in various places such as Ollyantetambo, Peru, served as an au pair in Salzburg, Austria, and trained in Sydney, Australia to add pregnancy and postnatal yoga to my certification. It was during this training that I became interested in becoming a Doula. I felt compelled to find a way to provide much needed support for individuals before, during and after birth.

After returning from my year of travels, I decided to pursue a different life and career path which brought me to the DC area where I completed various trainings to become a birth and postpartum doula, while continuing my work as a yoga instructor.

I am committed to using my extensive teaching experience and my passion for learning and self-development to provide emotional and physical support for individuals and families throughout pregnancy and birth, as well as helping to integrate and celebrate the newest additions into these families during postpartum adjustment! I am passionate about allowing space for people to explore their own connection between their body, breath and mind. I am confident in my ability to guide them through movement that focuses on clear instruction of alignment, as well as meditation and breathing techniques to better prepare for, cope with, and recuperate from pregnancy, labor and delivery.

I find it essential to establish a deep and meaningful connection with my clients. By building these relationships through listening, sharing, and holding space for birthers and their partners, we can establish the trust necessary for fulfilling and meaningful experiences throughout the entire birthing process.
