Birth Doula, Postpartum Doula

It is a joy to help families pursue their goals during a season that can be deeply transformative and leave a lasting impression. My hope is that every family walks away from its birth and postpartum experience feeling cared for, listened to, and encouraged.

I support families throughout pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period with calm, steady, and compassionate care. As a birth and postpartum doula, I provide evidence-based education, emotional support, hands-on assistance, and practical guidance to help families feel confident in their choices and prepared for what lies ahead.

I believe every family deserves to understand its options and feel empowered to make decisions that align with its values, preferences, and individual needs. During labor and birth, I offer grounded, continuous support—helping families navigate the intensity of labor, remain connected to their goals, and feel respected no matter how birth unfolds.

My care continues after the baby arrives. During the postpartum period, I provide reassurance and hands-on support as families recover from birth, learn their baby’s cues, establish feeding, find opportunities for rest, and adjust to life with a newborn.

Whether you are hoping for an unmedicated birth, planning an epidural, preparing for a cesarean or repeat birth, or simply looking for steady support and advocacy, I am here to help you feel informed, supported, and never alone.

The Birth That Inspired My Calling

My journey to becoming a doula began with the unexpected birth of my son. My plan seemed simple: arrive at the hospital, receive an epidural, and have my baby. I had followed a similar plan during the birth of my daughter and expected this experience to unfold much the same way.

Instead, labor progressed far more quickly than anticipated. By the time I reached the hospital, my contractions were two minutes apart and I was experiencing an intense urge to push. My obstetrician was in surgery, the opportunity for an epidural had passed, and a midwife entered the room to attend my birth.

I was overwhelmed and afraid. The midwife looked into my eyes, used her hands to help calm my body, and confidently reassured me that it was time to birth my son. Her steady presence helped me move through my fear, trust my body, and welcome my baby.

What stayed with me most was not that the birth was unmedicated or that it unfolded differently from my plan. It was the compassion and support I received when I felt most vulnerable. In the middle of an intense physical and emotional experience, one calm and encouraging person helped me feel safe enough to release my resistance and recognize the beauty of my son’s arrival.

That experience opened my eyes to the profound difference compassionate support can make. I realized that many families move through birth without feeling that same sense of calm, reassurance, and encouragement. A desire grew within me to provide that support to others—and through that experience, a doula was born.

Today, I encourage families to consider not only what they want their birth to look like, but also how they want to feel throughout pregnancy, labor, birth, and postpartum. I help them identify what matters most, understand the options available to them, and prepare to make informed decisions—even when circumstances change.

Every pregnancy, birth, baby, and postpartum experience is unique. Each deserves personalized, respectful care designed around the needs of the individual family.
