Katelynn Reiling

Birth Doula, Lamaze Educator

My name is Katelynn, and my mission as a birth doula and childbirth educator is to help families feel informed, empowered, and genuinely supported throughout pregnancy, birth, and the transition into postpartum.

I provide physical comfort, emotional reassurance, and evidence-based information tailored to your individual needs and preferences. My role is to walk beside you through one of life’s most transformative experiences, helping you prepare thoughtfully, understand your options, and move through your birth with greater confidence.

I am a DONA-Certified Birth Doula and Lamaze-Certified Childbirth Educator. I also serve as a Labor Support Volunteer at VHC Health in Arlington, Virginia, where I support families through a wide variety of labor and birth experiences.

My training and hands-on experience allow me to provide practical comfort techniques, help families navigate changing circumstances, and explain information in clear, approachable ways. I believe every family deserves to feel respected, included, and meaningfully involved in the decisions surrounding their care.

My passion for pregnancy and birth began in 2019 when I became pregnant with my first child. Alongside the excitement, I quickly realized how many decisions there were to make about my body, my baby, and my birth experience. I became determined to educate myself, create a supportive birth team, and prepare both physically and emotionally.

Three babies later, I remain deeply committed to the belief that every birthing person deserves the opportunity to feel informed, strong, capable, and supported. My own experiences have reinforced that empowerment is not defined by one specific type of birth—it comes from having access to reliable information, compassionate care, and support that respects your voice.

Before becoming a doula and childbirth educator, I worked as an elementary school teacher and barre instructor. My teaching background helps me translate complex information into practical, understandable guidance, while my experience with movement allows me to offer creative positioning and comfort options during pregnancy and labor.

I was born in Southern California and raised in Northern Virginia. Today, I live here with my husband and our three young children. On weekends, you may find us walking the W&OD Trail with a double stroller, spending time at a sports field, or building elaborate Lego creations with our toddlers.

I also love visiting family throughout the country, remembering my pre-parenthood travels with my partner, testing the limits of my spice tolerance, and working through a good word puzzle.

I would be honored to support your journey and help you prepare for a birth experience in which you feel heard, respected, confident, and cared for.
