Chareesa Freeman
My name is Charessa Freeman, and I am a compassionate, resilient birth worker who approaches birth as a sacred and transformative rite of passage.
More than 10 years ago, I fell in love with birth work after becoming a mother myself. That experience awakened a deep respect for the wisdom of the birthing body and showed me the difference informed, compassionate support can make.
I am the mother of two daughters whose births unfolded in very different settings. My first daughter was born at home, and my second was born in a hospital. During both experiences, I felt cared for, heard, and fully supported.
Each birth was empowering in its own way and continues to shape how I care for families—with reverence, flexibility, and genuine respect for each person’s choices, values, and circumstances. I understand that a positive birth is not defined by a particular location or outcome but by whether the family feels respected, informed, and meaningfully involved throughout the experience.
Over the course of my journey, I have supported four families during birth and more than 25 families through postpartum care, lactation support, childbirth education, and newborn care. I meet families exactly where they are, offering a calm and nonjudgmental space as they move through pregnancy, birth, recovery, and early parenthood.
Teaching and education are at the heart of my work. I am passionate about helping families understand their options and providing evidence-based information in ways that feel clear, approachable, and relevant.
My goal is to help families make informed decisions that align with their values, bodies, and lives. I believe knowledge, intuition, and compassionate support are most powerful when woven together.
During postpartum, I assist families as they recover from birth, navigate infant feeding, care for their newborns, and settle into new rhythms. I provide practical help and emotional reassurance while encouraging parents to trust their instincts and grow confidently into their new roles.
I bring a calm, heart-centered presence into every space—along with resilience, compassion, and a sense of humor. I tend to find the silver lining and believe laughter can be as restorative as rest.
Outside of birth work, I enjoy exploring nature, reading, singing, and taking the microphone for a good karaoke session.
My intention is simple: to serve families with honesty, warmth, respect, and reverence so they feel seen, supported, and empowered as they welcome new life.
If you are looking for support that honors your body, your choices, and your spirit, I would be honored to walk alongside you and create space for trust, wisdom, and a deeply supported transition into parenthood.
