Each client brings me renewed purpose and hope. I feel so honored to be able to walk alongside mothers, fathers, partners, and families towards a happier and healthier birthing and postpartum experience.
I was so lucky to have two pregnant cousins at the time. Both reminded me of my love for birth and even suggested I become a doula, probably because I was the only one who loved listening to their mother’s birth stories in high school. And so my journey began. I turned in my graduate school thesis, entered the magical world of birthing, and never looked back. (I still haven’t looked to see what my grade was.) For about eight months I continued to balance my administrative job, in a non-profit, with my doula training and studying.
Eventually, with the guidance of my mentor and support of my husband, I finally took the leap to pursue birth work full time and I have never been happier. Each client brings me renewed purpose and hope. I feel so honored to be able to walk alongside mothers, fathers, partners, and families towards a happier and healthier birthing and postpartum experience.
I strongly believe everyone needs and deserves a doula to hold their hand, squeeze their hips, check their latch, celebrate their success, and just be a soft shoulder to cry on when needed. I am proud to bring my experiences as an educator to my work. As a doula my mission is to continue educating; challenging the fear our society has created around birth, to bring clarity where there is confusion, and to facilitate a space of empowerment, strength, and thriving!
