Our Professionals Can Help With...

  • Emotional Support for All Parents: Postpartum doulas offer a non-judgmental, compassionate presence for parents as they navigate the emotional ups and downs of life with a newborn. Whether you're feeling overwhelmed, excited, or anxious, your doula provides a safe space to express your emotions.
  • Newborn Care Guidance: Doulas assist with the basics of newborn care, including feeding (breastfeeding, chestfeeding, and bottle-feeding), diaper changes, and soothing techniques. They empower you with the knowledge and confidence to care for your baby.
  • Overnight Support: If you're struggling with sleep deprivation, postpartum doulas provide overnight care, allowing you to rest while they tend to your baby. This includes feeding, burping, and comforting your newborn through the night.
  • Feeding Support: Postpartum doulas offer practical, hands-on help with feeding your baby, whether through breastfeeding, chestfeeding, bottle-feeding, or a combination. They help troubleshoot feeding challenges and provide education on safe feeding practices.
  • Physical Recovery Support: For birthing parents, postpartum doulas offer support as you recover from childbirth, whether you’ve had a vaginal birth or a C-section. They help with self-care, remind you to hydrate, eat, and rest, and offer encouragement during your physical healing process.
  • Supporting Partners and Co-Parents: Postpartum doulas ensure that non-birthing parents and partners feel involved and supported in caring for the baby. They offer tips on newborn care, help partners find ways to bond with the baby, and provide guidance on how to best support the birthing parent.
  • Sibling Adjustment: For families with older children, postpartum doulas can help siblings adjust to the arrival of a new baby, offering ideas for making this transition smoother and ensuring they feel included in family life.
  • Household Support: While a postpartum doula is focused on baby care and parental support, they also help with light household tasks. This can include preparing light meals, washing baby clothes, sterilizing bottles, and helping keep the space tidy so that you can focus on your baby.
  • Guidance on Baby Cues: Understanding your baby’s needs can be overwhelming. Postpartum doulas help interpret common newborn cues—whether it's hunger, tiredness, or discomfort—so you feel more confident in responding to your baby’s needs.
  • Non-Medical Expertise: Postpartum doulas provide evidence-based advice on baby care and postpartum recovery. They are not medical professionals but can help you understand when it’s time to consult with a healthcare provider for any concerns.
  • Customized Family Support: Postpartum doulas tailor their services to meet the unique needs of every family. Whether you’re a single parent, adoptive parent, or a family with specific cultural or religious needs, they provide personalized care that respects your values and preferences.
