In Fall 2017, inspired by the disparities BIPOC folks suffered in birthing and her sons own birth, Miranda completed her training to become a Doula. That same season, she began employment with Balanced Birth Support. From her own birth story and diving right into the world of birthing in the United States, Miranda came face to face with all of the disparities faced for birthing folks. Through that, she strived to educate and empower all that she worked with to have a safe, healthy, & empowered birthing experience for ALL.
As a Black and Latinx woman, Miranda has been no stranger to social justice issues throughout her life. For her, a big part of her social justice activism takes place by educating and empowering other POC in their conception, pregnancy, & birth experiences. As of 2021, Miranda began taking her social justice activism to the yoga world by fighting for the rights of BIPOC yogis, speaking out publicly against harmful studios, and providing accessible yoga to the communities around her.

In 2021, Miranda was also promoted to a leadership position within Balanced Birth Support as the Director of Equity & Inclusion. In this role, she strives to create a safe harbor for all. Equality, diversity, and inclusion take up massive important space in the birth world— and ensuring it reaches ALL. Goal oriented, she strives to continually further her awareness by taking multiple trainings on inclusion, trauma, social justice, & more.
