Get To Know Martie Vinson!

I’ve known I wanted to be a midwife since I was 14, and always loved pregnancy. I would wake up early before school to watch “a baby story” on TLC and would stay after school to ask my pregnant student teachers questions about their pregnancy

Birth is just the beginning. The postpartum journey is equally profound, and Martie Vinson is passionate about supporting families every step of the way.

Her journey into birth work began with a year-long internship under Certified Professional Midwife Valerie Hall (2016-2017), where she witnessed firsthand the beauty of midwifery care. This transformative experience fueled her desire to provide compassionate, evidence-based support to birthing individuals—not just during labor, but in the critical weeks after birth as well.

In 2018, Martie became a certified doula through MaternityWise International, specializing in both birth and postpartum support. She has spent years guiding families through labor, newborn care, postpartum recovery, and the emotional shifts that come with becoming a parent. Recognizing the gaps in postpartum care, she emphasizes healing, nourishment, and mental well-being during this tender transition.

Now, as a Student Midwife training under Deanna Kopf, she is deepening her expertise, working toward her Certified Professional Midwife (CPM) certification to bring even more holistic, individualized care to birthing families. Her passion is ensuring that every person feels heard, informed, and fully supported—not just during birth, but in the weeks and months that follow.

When she’s not immersed in birth and postpartum care, you’ll find her enjoying good food, spending time with loved ones, or adding a few too many things to her online shopping cart.

The birth and postpartum period deserve to be treated with respect, care, and understanding, and in the right care that is always possible.
