Meet Lauren!

Remember this is your birth journey, you get to write your story. With every birth a mother is also born. Be born. The body is an amazing vessel and you were meant to do this.

My entry to the Doula world came unexpectedly and with many twists and turns along the way.

My career path was unclear and my ultimate passion had yet to be discovered in the many years after college. I worked in the Health Services industry in multiple capacities where I found true fulfilment from the strong client and patient relationships that I fostered.  The passion for me came from connecting with people through active listening and authentic support.

My two beautiful daughters have played a special role in my journey to become a Doula. Following the difficult birth of my first daughter Sally, I began to question my birth story. Was it the experience I had hoped for? Are there other options that provide a more personal and gratifying experience? The answer I learned was yes; I changed the birth story with my 2nd daughter through choosing the support of a Doula.  I was in awe of my Doula, Liz Oldham (owner of Balanced Birth Support) and her graceful ability to navigate, support, calm, encourage, and hold space for myself, my husband, and our baby.  This ultimately led to peaceful healing and my passion became crystal clear; to serve and support families during the most amazing life event, birth!

I would be privileged to provide your pre and post-partum support.  The journey to birth and beyond will challenge you while also being your truest blessing. Allow me to help you regain your footing so that you can dance along your beautiful path; you were “born” for it!!!

“Birth is not only about making babies. Birth is about making mothers–strong, competent, capable mothers who trust themselves and know their inner strength.”
― Barbara Katz Rothman

My wish for all families is to have the supported birth that you envision, allowing the experience to transform you!
