
Vernae Smith (she/her) is a compassionate caregiver and certified postpartum doula dedicated to helping families feel grounded, informed, and supported as they welcome new life. With a background in social work and business administration, she brings a thoughtful balance of empathy, organization, and community awareness to her practice.
Vernae earned her Master of Social Work, specializing in Community, Administration, and Policy Practice, which strengthened her commitment to family well-being and holistic care. Over the years, she has supported individuals and families across different life stages—experiences that deepened her understanding of multigenerational needs and the power of nurturing environments.
Trained through Cornerstone Birthworks’ Sunstone Postpartum Doula Program and Urban Baby Beginnings’ Perinatal Health Training, Vernae offers personalized postpartum care rooted in compassion, cultural awareness, and respect for each family’s unique journey. Through emotional support, newborn care education, and resource connection, she empowers parents to enter this new chapter with confidence and calm.
