Birth Doula, Postpartum Doula

“Birth changes everything. My role is to help you feel grounded, informed, and empowered as you welcome new life and step into a new chapter.”

I was one of those children who watched A Baby Story on TLC, completely fascinated by pregnancy and birth. When my mother worked at Georgetown University’s Institute for Reproductive Health, I loved playing with the cycle beads in her office and learning about how our bodies work.

At the time, I did not understand how expansive birth work could be. The only births I saw took place in hospitals and involved medical professionals in scrubs. Because I knew I did not want to become a physician or nurse, I assumed there was no place for me in that world.

After establishing a professional career and operating other businesses, the quiet pull toward supporting birthing families began to resurface. Before officially becoming a doula, I was invited to attend a birth—and that experience changed everything.

The family welcomed me into the process and invited me to provide hands-on support. The midwife encouraged me to pursue doula training. I kept the room light with humor and shared snickerdoodles from Forestville with the baby’s father—if you know, you know.

Something shifted deeply within me that day. I recognized that the passion I had carried since childhood had never disappeared. It had simply been waiting for the right moment, and I knew it was finally time to follow it.

I believe there is no one-size-fits-all approach to birth or postpartum support. Every pregnancy, birth, baby, and transition into parenthood is unique. My role is to provide emotional reassurance, practical support, evidence-informed education, and encouragement with self-advocacy while honoring each family’s autonomy.

You are at the center of my approach to care. I take time to understand your values, preferences, concerns, and goals so the support I provide reflects what matters most to you. I consider it an honor to create a personalized experience in which families feel safe expressing their needs and confident making informed decisions.

I am a proud Prince George’s County native and look forward to doing my part to improve birth and postpartum experiences throughout the region. I am especially passionate about helping local families feel respected, represented, and connected to supportive resources within their community.

When I am not working, I enjoy reading, boxing, taking long daily walks with my dog, and laughing until my face hurts with the people I love.

Above all, I strive to create a space where families feel grounded, respected, informed, and genuinely supported as they welcome new life.
