Birth Doula, Postpartum Doula

My journey into birth work began after the birth of my second child. With the support of my own doula, I experienced a successful vaginal birth after cesarean (VBAC) that opened my eyes to the transformative difference compassionate, informed support can make.

As I learned more about the high rates of maternal mortality, postpartum depression, and birth trauma in the United States, I knew I had found my calling. I wanted to help shift maternity care toward a model centered on informed consent, bodily autonomy, collaboration, and respect for each family’s individual needs.

I am trained as an Ayurvedic Postpartum Doula and a Full Circle Birth and Postpartum Doula. I began my professional doula career in 2017 through the Swedish Doula Hospital Program in Seattle, where I gained extensive experience supporting families through a variety of hospital births.

Working within the hospital setting strengthened my ability to navigate changing birth circumstances, help clients understand their options, and collaborate respectfully with medical providers. It also deepened my passion for advocacy and true informed consent.

My three very different birth experiences, combined with the privilege of supporting my clients, have shaped my deep respect for birth and postpartum as vulnerable, sacred, and transformative passages. My care extends beyond the birth of a baby to honor the birth of a parent and the evolution of the entire family.

My approach is intuitive, nurturing, and grounded in an understanding of the cultural and anthropological roots of birth. I thoughtfully bring that wisdom into the realities of pregnancy, childbirth, postpartum recovery, and family life in modern-day America.

As a birth and postpartum doula, I embrace the full range of experiences and emotions that can accompany pregnancy, labor, birth, healing, and early parenthood. I recognize that transformation looks different for every family, and I tailor my support to each client’s values, identity, preferences, and circumstances.

Whether I am providing labor support, helping a family prepare for a VBAC, offering Ayurvedic postpartum care, supporting recovery, or helping parents adjust to life with a newborn, my goal is to build confidence, strengthen self-trust, and help clients remain connected to their own instincts.

Every family deserves to move through birth and postpartum feeling informed, respected, supported, and deeply connected to the meaning of its own unique experience.
